Broke Away was created by Karyn Fox, General Manager of Adams Peak Country Estate, after years of helping wedding guests answer the same questions: Where can we stay close to the wedding? How far away is it? How do we get there and back?
What began as a way to help Adams Peak guests quickly highlighted a much broader need. Broke is home to an incredible collection of wedding and event venues, each bringing couples, families, friends and visitors to our region. Today, Broke Away proudly supports them all, helping guests find accommodation close to whichever Broke venue brings them here.
We believe that when our local venues, accommodation providers, transport operators and businesses work together, the whole community benefits. Broke Away is about sharing the love around – helping visitors stay locally, spend locally and experience more of Broke while they’re here.
With more than 600 beds available locally, Broke Away brings accommodation together in one place, making it easier to stay close to the celebration without long travel times or complicated searches.
Where possible, we personally visit properties before they’re listed, so we can better understand what they offer and who they’re best suited to. Guests book directly with property owners or through their preferred booking platform, and Broke Away doesn’t take commission on bookings.
We also connect guests with local transport options, making it easier to plan ahead, get home safely and enjoy the celebration without worrying about who’s driving.
